His Excellency Bids Turkish Ambassador Farewell
Her Excellency, Ambassador of Turkey Ms. Buyukkarakas paid a courtesy call on His Excellency the President of the Republic of Botswana Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi this afternoon to bid him farewell as her two years tenure in Botswana comes to an end.
His Excellency the President presented delight on having Ambassador Buyukkarakas in Botswana, sighting that Botswana will continue to strengthen relations with Turkey.
President Masisi noted that following his tour of a diamond company this afternoon, he learned that Turkey is on the list of countries that buy Botswana diamonds and he said that calls for his government to direct more resources to strengthen the relations.
For her part, Her Excellency Ms. Buyakkarakas appreciated the warm stay she had in Botswana, and that she cherished how the Botswana Government prioritizes the lives of Batswana and their livelihoods, the way the country respects peace and security which is notable in facilitating peace keeping in the region.
The Ambassador further said, they value the good relations the two countries have and will continue strengthening constructive relations.
She noted that education is a priority and they will continue to make an impact on the young people by continuing to offer Batswana scholarships.
In her conclusion she said, private sector poses a potential opportunity for trade between the two countries and strengthening the relations on it will give them a chance to exchange experiences and promote trade between the two countries. Her Excellency will leave Botswana at the end of the month.
