Digitilization A Priority For The Government- HHVP Tsogwane
Digital technology is pivotal to the building of better societies and development of a stronger national economy. It will enable inclusive development and support job creation.
His Honour, the Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane launching the Orange Digital Centre this morning in Gaborone said the availability and accessibility of digital technology has always been a concern for the Government of Botswana.
He said major investments have been made to review the ICT policy and regulations, investing in infrastructure and creating a favourable operational environment for the growth of ICT usage and the industry in the country.
It is the Government’s will to “leave no one behind” hence the intent to connect all villages to high speed broadband internet by the year 2022/2023, the Vice President augmented.
Orange Botswana established the Orange Digital Centre to enhance digitisation knowledge and create business and employment opportunities for the youth. The centre which is located at the Gaborone International Finance Park is open to everyone including students, employed and unemployed youth and anyone who wishes to access the facility.
