Ministry Of Labor Closes Month Of Prayer

The Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs today officially closed the month of prayer. Speaking at the ceremony, the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary Ms. Matilda Basinyi said the closing of the month of prayer does not mean the end of prayer against diseases.

Basinyi urged all to continue praying against the pandemics that the country is currently experiencing. She advised that people should not lose hope but continue calling and trusting on the Lord.

The Labour Advisor, Mr Claude Mojafi concurred with Basinyi saying prayers should continue beyond September, adding that it should be a year-long project for everyone.

The month September was declared a month of prayer against HIV & and AIDS in 1996. This year it also included Covid-19, Non-Communicable Diseases and Road Accidents. It was held under the theme: Peace and Grace: “The Divine gifts for Abundant Health”.

Mojafi said the theme resonates well with what Botswana stands for as a country. He explained that this is in line with the Vision 2036 Pillar of Governance, Peace and Security.
