The leadership of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship (MoE) paid a courtesy call on His Excellency the Acting President Mr Slumber Tsogwane at his office this morning. The delegation which was led by the Minister of Entrepreneurship, Mr Karabo Gare met the Acting President to present to him the new ministry’s strategy.
Acting President Tsogwane commended the Ministry of Entrepreneurship leadership saying such engagements are very important. He added that the engagements should be continuous as they provide an opportunity to scrutinise issues and come up with solutions.
The Ministry of Entrepreneurship came into existence following the recent rationalisation of government ministries. Acting President Slumber Tsogwane said the reason for the rationalisation was to bring change and to do things differently to achieve desired results.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Mr Joel Ramaphoi said the setting up of this ministry came at right time. Ramaphoi said the mandate of the ministry is to provide leadership and overall policy direction, strategy and standards on business development locally. He said the aim is to also inculcate the mind set of entrepreneurship into Batswana as well as provide a conducive environment to do business.
He revealed that the ministry’s Draft Blueprint has already been completed while the draft proposed structure has been submitted to the Directorate of Public Service Management (DPSM) for review. “Approval of the functional structure is expected around mid-July 2022 and re-deployment of personnel will take effect thereafter,” said Ramaphoi.
