Four Batswana and two Zimbabwean male citizens appeared in court
Village Magistrate Court in Gaborone today (14/03/2022) for robbery
that occurred at SADC Headquarters on the 28 January 2022. The
four Batswana suspects are Mpho Rasetena aged 28 of Mogoditshane
Block 9, Lesego Masilo aged 33 of Whitecity, Maitapiso Thuso
Kgakgamatso aged 37 of Ledumadumane and the 40 year old Otsile
Semadi of Mmopane village, whilst the two Zimbabweans are Innocent
Bushri Shaggy aged 31 and Tongai Tsikirayi aged 38.
They were arrested on the 11th March 2022 in Gaborone for the
robbery incident involving 18 laptops, six cellphones and a camera all
amounting to over P500 000.00. Police investigations are ongoing
At the time of arrest, the suspects were found in possession of a
firearm suspected to have been used in the commission of the offence
and foreign currencies.
The suspects are currently remanded in custody and will appear again
for mention on the 28t March 2022.
