Kgosietsile Ngakaagae, a renowned local celebrity lawyer, has shown a concern over His Excellency the President Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi’s uninspiring rule.
Through his Facebook post, the celebrity lawyer has disapproved of the President’s style of leadership which is bearing no fruits, save for bitter ones. In his own words, Ngakaagae expressed his disappointment, “It is sad that three years into his presidency, the foundations of his legacy have not yet been set. His rule, is proving barren. There is no innovation in his leadership, and in his government. The lofty electoral promises of which he was so lyrical about lie in total neglect.”
In the run up to the 2019 general elections, President Masisi made a lot of promises to the nation. He promised the production of an electric car which he said would generate more than hundred thousand (100 000) jobs. The car would be manufactured and assembled in Botswana. The President further promised the intensive review of the constitution. President Masisi made many other promises which has not materialized up to now.
Ngakaagae observed that instead of facing his responsibilities head on here in Botswana, the President now “pursues the dream of an African statesman, which in reality is an escape from the pressing duties of government at home.”
“His rule is, thus far, a little more than a theater piece: a strip tease of developmental brought forwards, itinerate travel, and an open ended SOE, the object of which is largely to give him relevance (as opposed to fighting the virus). Out of the OP, our ears receive daily, the jungling discords of a first time guitar picker. His sad fate, as a failed President, is forming faster than his legacy. In time the sponsored approbation he receives from those who benefit from his shortcomings, will die down. As they did with his predecessor, they will curse him with contumelious epithets as they prostitute their eloquence to the next man at the helm. His detractors would argue that he is beyond help.”Ngakaagae lambasted.
According to Ngakaagae, the president really has only himself to blame than blaming others for his barren model of leadership. Ngakaagae advised that just like Former President His Excellency Lt Gen. Dr. Seretse Khama Ian Khama, Masisi is going to be let to the dogs by those who claim to be his well-wishers.
