Government dismisses allegations concerning the closure of Badale J.S.S

Assistant minister of Basic education, honorable Thato Kwerepe has dismissed allegations that Badale Junior Secondary School in Mathathane will be closed. Assistant minister Kwerepe told residents of Mathathane in a Kgotla meeting on Friday that claims stating the closure of Badale J.S.S were fictitious adding that there was no any factor that could propel such.
He further stressed that unsatisfactory junior certificate results of the year 2017 and 2018 were amongst elements that propelled such fabrications. However, assistant minister stated that, though recent JC examination results of the school were not pleasing, it was vital for parents and teachers to come together and find ways on how the results could be improved.
Assistant minister Kwerepe also mentioned pregnancy as one elements that needed to be tackled not only in Badale J.S.S but in most schools.
“Badale J.S.S is also facing a school fees debt amounting to P66 500.00”, said Parents Teachers Association chairperson, Ms Pauline Mooketsi. She explained that the results of debts were being perpetuated by some students who completed their school levels and left without having paid the fees.
Besides, Mathathane Primary School is being regarded as being doing well on academics, as on the recently released PSLE results, the school has produced twenty (20) A(s).By Moses Moleboge
