Senior Program Officer is responsible for management and implementation of the USAID Program in Good hope.
Coordination and Implementation of USAID Programme
Responsible for planning, implementation and coordination of all the USAID program activities in the district
Carry out home visits and follow-up to the target population in the community
Responsible for recruiting, planning and implementation of young mothers programme
Recruit and implement the Leadership Programme for out of school youth in the district
Monitor and refer target population to other service providers in the district
Supervise and monitor all project staff in the district
Communication and Community Involvement
Engage stakeholders and advocate for community buy-in for the project
Engage and monitor child Protection Committees (CPC) in the district
Network and establish relationships with schools, PTA, VDCs, Kgotlas and NGO’s in the district.
Represent the organization at DMSAC meetings and other relevant community groups
Conduct necessary outreach initiatives within the community and schools.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Report Writing
Utilize programme-monitoring tools to capture data and track progress.
Produce quarterly reports for the donor and stakeholders.
Supervise and monitor team members in the department to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Attend necessary meetings with relevant stakeholders
General Duties
Conduct any other duties as required by management
Provide stories for social media for SSI
Conduct other duties that will promote the organization and programme
Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent experience in or related to youth development
Basic programme management and leadership skills required.
Background in community mobilization and outreach activities
Strong understanding of programme management with previous experience working with youth
Strong facilitation skills with experience in leading adolescent groups is required
Ability to relate and work with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex activities, maintains
organization, meets deadlines, and exercise sound judgment while able to
deal with numerous priorities concurrently.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Setswana
Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office Programmes (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Flexible, creative, energetic personality that is youth programme oriented.
