700k to be spent on local artists at GIMC
Gaborone International music festival which has been surrounded with controversy has P700 000 money reserved solely for renumerating participating local artists. The event has been under scrunity after its organizer Fish Pabalinga was making rounds in the local newspapers and other media bodies for allegedly having a hand in the public funds through his connection with the top guys in the executive.
The event is said to be going to use atleast P2.3 million in total. It comprises of performances ranging from poetry, comedy, choral and jazz among others. It runs for a week and this year it has been penciled for the 1st of September to the 8th of the same month. GIMC as is popularly known has been running since 2014.
