Iggy Azalea Drops Four Songs
Iggy Azalea is in a giving mood. Before announcing that Digital Distortion will no longer be released, the Australian rapper unleashed four new songs.
According to Iggy, the 4-track pack is called 4 My Ratz and was produced entirely by LJay Currie. “the only reason why it was fine to throw out the songs i did is because they arent album cuts made on label time,” she clarified via Twitter. “just songs i wrote for fun.”
Featuring Currie, “Going Up” is the first of the bunch. It blends a mellow vibe with trap production, allowing Iggy to rap about a night out. “You won’t ever get the best of me,” she raps. “I saw you at the club last night, you couldn’t get next to me / I had that club going crazy / I guess this girl got the recipe.”
Next up, Azalea flexes her singing and rapping on the pop-leaning “Good.” Here, she takes on her haters without pulling punches. “I still don’t give a fuck,” she raps. “We live in a world full of judgement, they love to judge us / I think they love to discuss me ’cause their life is disgusting.”
Moving on is the piano-laden “Hate on It,” which reflects on her past while focusing on her future. “They tried to mold me, make me,” she raps. “Mean old social experiment, girl, y’all can’t take me / Might get dem girls ’cause dem girls lazy / But that’s not acceptable from the woman who raised me.”
Finally, I-G-G-Y drops the atmospheric “Never Satisfied,” where she sings and raps about herself with confidence. “I’m a rich bitch with the fattest ass,” she brags. “And my house big with a lot of plaques / 20-seater jet and I pay the tab / Just to come and cook you eggs and then I take it back.”
Iggy has also changed the title of her oft-delayed sophomore album from Digital Distortion to Surviving the Summer. The project is reportedly complete and is due in the new year. “ill be back properly after yall get your christmas money in those lil cards ya aunty sends you,” she tweeted.
