Local Rappers Set To Perform At The Scramble4Money In South Africa
Two locaol rappers, III Law and Osama Bin Chaplin are set to debut performances at the Scrambles4Money: Talk is Cheap 5 battle rap in South Africa on September 29.
The two rappers are said to have been staging competitive battles in the local Warzone battle rap where they are highly ranked. They join Blain and L The Street Poet who are regular performers at the South African event
They told Mmegi newspaper that Its really awesome to be some of the people battling during the event, and that they are quite excited. When I get that side I want show them what Botswana cats are capable of doing.
Ill Law told the paper that he received the invitation to contest at the event after the Scrambles4Money: Talk is Cheap 5 saw one of his videos battling at the Warzone and they were impressed. He will be battling Zimbabwean rapper, Siri Boy who has been battling it out in one of the rap battle leagues in his country dubbed the Da-Grape-Vine Rap Battle.
Osama Bin Chaplin who has an unbeaten streak in the local league will be facing celebrated South African battle rapper, Demon who is not an easy target.
“I am ready for my opponent. I have what it takes to take him down. I have enough respect for him. I am just going to bring more fire and take him down,” he said.
Both Ill Law and Osama Bin Chaplin are confident that after this international gig they will start to receive more calls to battle outside the country.
Warzone commander Selby Muir expressed excitement to see more local rappers battling on international stages, stating that by next year he would love to see at least 10 Botswana rappers on the international stage.
