PJB has always been ‘best friends’ with twitter and has always used it to rant and even attack his superiors. This time around he went in the current national team coach who has coached the team before, Major David Bright.
He in a twitter post likened the returning of Bright to a ‘dinosaur’. “If you appoint dinosaurs, expect pre-historic ideas and vision,” Butler tweeted on Tuesday. In another tweet, he had said Morupule Wanderers, coached by Bright last season, “has now become the national team feeder group.” Before a sarcastic applause: “What a wonderful idea, well done Masego Ngcingani (Nchingane), you are a revolutionary!”
Bright who is preparing the national team for the weekend assignment against South Africa in Francistown, brushed off Butler’s thin veiled attack.
“I don’t focus on such stupid things. I don’t regard him as a professional and I don’t even know him. I have never spoken to Butler,” Bright said.
Butler resigned as the national team coach last month before the end of his contract just after Zebras lost on their opening game of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in early June against Mauritania.
