Prisoner of words

These bells I hear in my head

Like curve-balls, they hinder me from thinking ahead

From whence do they ring?

Maybe a fling

Guilt ridden

These are troubles hidden

I am a prisoner of words unsaid

Running is not the way out

Love I cannot be without

Like treacherous blades they lie in wait

I am the bait

Brain fuzzy

I could swear I am brainless

Chained by these words unsaid, I am prisoner of words unsaid

I could swear I heard myself scream

Tears roll down my ruby cheeks, nothing short of a stream

Blank, shoot!

It would have been better to be speechless

Like a rock, they leave me lifeless

Attention never paid

A prisoner of words unsaid

Stoned!

No, not speechless, stoned!

Had I the guts, I’d shoot my brains out

Nothing ever comes out, my lips left a petty pout

Bullets of an unspecified force, deadlier than a nuclear weapon

A break from these word bound chains is a much desired luxury, for freedom is no longer an option

We all in some way are prisoners of words unsaid.
