Women National Basketball Team Top 15 Selected

Basketball in our country is growing and getting the recognition it needs. The Senior National Team coaches have selected the top 15 ladies to make up women national basketball team through the trials that were held in Sir Seretse Khama Barracks. A total of 19 ladies were tried and 15 selected. The ladies showed their commitment to the sport as they pushed themselves to the limit with the hope of getting selected.

After the hectic trials, the national team was narrowed down to: Sesupo Balofi  of Police 11; Kaone Masebeke of BDF; Endie Banyaditse of Police 11; Gamu Nkobodu of Dolphins; Tshiamo Maswabi of Dolphins; Monicah Tlou of Police 11; Matshidiso Ramoshebi of Dolphins; Kesalopa Motswagole of Police 11l; Resego Moepengof BDF; Malea Mokute of Police 11; Orapeleng Tsona Leagajang of BDF; Kemmonye Madikwe of Police 11; Katlego Seitshiro of Police 11; Kefentse Ditirwa of Dolphins and Osego Sechele of BDF.

The team’s coach, retired national basketball player and BDF coach, Israel Mphato said players become serious when they are in the national team as compared to when they are in regions because they now receive much recognition. We wish the selected ladies all the best, and hope those who did not make it will continue pushing harder.
