Congratulations are in order for our new golden boy Vincent Crosbie. The humble boy from Serowe has become the first Motswana to cross the finish line of the 2017 Dakar Rally. Although his overall position was 36, the young man stands proud as he has done well for a first timer.
Starting off as a dream, it has now become reality, as he became the first Motswana rider to compete in Dakar. It was not about position but about completing one of the most difficult. Among his other achievements Vincent has also won the Botswana Off-road motorcycles Championship 2010.
The Dakar Rally is the most extreme off road endurance race that consists of 14 days of racing and close to 10,000 kilometers in distance. The terrain is anything from off-road tracks, dunes, rocks, and mountain passes. Vincent arrived back to Botswana at Sir Seretse Khama Airport today at 6pm. All Public, Media and Sponsors welcomed his team to celebrate our Botswana Dakar Hero coming home.
